Mindfulness and Cleansing

Last week we talked about Skin Brushing as a tool to help your body heal. This week I want to share a link with you on a great talk about Mindfulness. Often we think of detoxification as getting rid of toxins or poisons in a physical sense.
It is important to remember the physiological impact of our mind. With cell phones and kindles and readers, and pads of all types we are inundated with information and stimulation from all fronts. Music, sound, data……a relentless influx of stimulation. Every input creates an output.
There is never a chance for regeneration, repair, refreshment.
A break from all types of external stimulation, a mini-fast for the brain, can be refreshing Andi Puddicomb a mindfulness expert points out. In scripture we are admonished to “Be Still..” in many places. Peacefulness, solitude, time for reflection, time to just be still, is often missing from our hectic, stimulated daily lives.
Just ten minutes of peace, quiet, mindfulness — can help the system reset and refresh. If our brain is refreshed, how much better equiped is it to direct all of our bodily functions, which includes cleansing, detoxification and maintaining homeostasis?
