The information in our blogs and on this website has been developed to assist you on your journey to recovery, restoration and rejuvenation. Everyone’s journey is individual and unique and there is no one intervention or formula for wellness that will fit everyone.
There are some common principles and foundations for health and healing that we believe are critical. In practicing as a Doctor of Osteopathy I have found that these are essential elements for health and healing, and provide a foundation upon which Osteopathic treatment can be provided.
Traditional hands on Osteopathic treatment along with the SHINE protocol are tools that help you heal.

Dr. Anette was inspired to practice medicine in early childhood, when she was introduced to a variety of mission stories through her local church, in which physicianstraveled overseas to help patients with various illnesses who had no access to medical care. She first started her career in nursing, where she was introduced to the field of Osteopathic medicine, which she later pursued.

An osteopathic physician is similar to a medical doctor in that they both attend four years of medical school and complete their training in the same residency programs. However, while medical doctors usually focus on the injured or diseased part of the body, doctors of osteopathy look at the patient as a whole. “If there’s pain in
the shoulder, I don’t just look at the shoulder,” says Dr. Anette. “I consider what may be going on in the rest of the body that leads to that pain into the shoulder.”
Dr. Abdel has a background in Biomedical Engineering and is gifted in identifying structual problems in the body. He uses his knowledge of biomechanics and chiropractic and approaches the body as an entire inter-related structure.

He completed his Osteopathic education in Canada and in well versed in traditional Osteopathic philosophy and treatment. Together they founded Synergy Health Care in Montgomery, Illinois in 2001.

In order to find the root cause of the issue, Dr. Anette and Dr. Abdel spend time with their patients listening to their stories, completing thorough physical and structural exams. They do a complete laboratory analysis to check patients’ nutritional and hormonal imbalances, as well as to locate any infections. Dr. Anette focuses the physiology and function of the organs and viscera, while Dr. Abdel is gifted in targeting structural issues related to the problem.

Based on their findings, they work together to develop a treatment plan for the patient. Customized plans often include osteopathic manipulative treatment, or hands-on care. This may involve moving your muscles and joints using techniques that include stretching, gentle pressure and resistance. If necessary, they may also use injection
therapies, herbal medicine, nutritional enhancements, bioidentical hormones and more.

Should a patient absolutely need it, medication can be prescribed. “We always use the least-invasive options and put together a plan for each individual patient’s needs,” says Dr. Anette. “We strive to treat the cause of the issue and help the patient get well.” It is Dr. Anette and Dr. Abdel’s belief that the body has the inherent capacity to heal itself when given the right tools. “We believe in recovery, restoration and rejuvenation,” says Dr. Anette. “It’s possible for everybody, no matter where they’re coming from, to recover from their injury or illness, get restored and be rejuvenated or feel good again.” They recognize that all of the external stress people suffer from daily, eventually, because of how our bodies are designed, has a physical impact. It’s gratifying to them to be able to help patients heal and regain the hope that they were missing for so long.

If you suffer from chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia or chronic pain; have gone through physical therapy and other therapies with no luck; or have been told there is nothing wrong with you or nothing else that can be done, Dr. Anette and Dr. Abdel can help.“We’ve made a big impact on many different issues and have even helped people
avoid shoulder, knee, bunion and back surgery with our hands-on treatment and injection therapies, says Dr. Anette.” She and Dr. Abdel invite you to come experience the holistic traditional Osteopathic difference.
